BECOMING
A CHRISTIAN
The word Christian has very broad meanings today. We
believe a Christian is a person who belongs to Christ because of the price that
Jesus paid in order to get us, or buy us, back.
Simply put, God created us to belong to and worship Him.
Our sin or wrongful thoughts and actions ruined His plan.
Our sin also keeps us from a relationship with Him.
So in order to set things right, He sent His son, Jesus, to die so that
the price for our sin would be paid. If
Jesus didn’t die we would have to (and many do) pay for our own sin which is
eternity without God you know where. Does
this make sense to you? God paid
the ticket price to a relationship with Him so that it will eventually get back
to be like He created in the first place. All
He wants is for us to know and love Him. Do
you know and love Him? You can! The best that you know how, with as much faith as you have
right now, believe in His love gift for you and trust in Him.
Confess that you are a sinner in need of His salvation and allow Him to
forgive you. Here are some great
verses to look at.

I STILL A CHRISTIAN?
Doubt is an excellent way for your Christian’s growth to be paralyzed. If
you are constantly living in doubt and fear that you are really saved, then your
Christian life is self centered and can never get to the point of being
effective for God. God’s
salvation of a person was and is to spur you on to sharing that love and doing
good works which God has prepared for you.
Unfortunately a lot of people never get out of the gate to run the race
set before us because of our own doubts. Below
are verses that I hope show the clearness that God intended us to know our
salvation and to be secure in it.
1
John 5:13 – We can know and God wants us to know that we have eternal life
John
10:28 – It is God who gives us eternal life and promises that you won’t
loose it
Romans
8:29-30 – There are no gaps! Everyone
that God Justifies He glorified(Notice the past tense glorified. It
is already done in His eyes!)
Romans
8:37-39 – There is nothing in all creation, including ourselves that can
separate us from the love of God
1
Peter 1:3-5 – God keeps your salvation, not you.
It is God who
has saved you by grace, It is God who keeps you by His grace and it is God, by
His promise who is keeping your salvation, ready to be revealed to you in the
end.
It is all God. We are only to respond to Him in faith so that we may please
Him (Hebrews 11:6), love Him with
all our heart and obey that which He has told us in His Word.
